Embedding Artificial Intelligence into Constrained Devices

In this talk I present some of the research areas I have been working on during the first year of my PhD program. My scientific research focuses on the complex integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into constrained devices that characterize the Internet of Things (IoT). AI has proven to be successful for the most diverse tasks and applications, attracting the interest of industries and investors. However, the application of common AI techniques to the world of IoT is still an open issue, given the computational requirements of most powerful AI tools—e.g., Neural Networks, Transformers, etc. Here is where my research focuses mostly, working on the discovery of small yet powerful AI solutions and on the combination of symbolic and sub-symbolic tools.
